How to Create Photo Cards Online

Customized photo cards offer a fun and inexpensive way to create one-of-a-kind greeting cards, holiday cards, thank you notes or baby or graduation announcements. A range of options exists, including varying templates and sizes. Many websites offer customized photo cards, including Shutterfly, Vista Print, Kodak, Walmart and Zazzle. Although these directions focus on Walmart and Zazzle, most websites have similar processes.

Instructions

Making Photo Cards with Walmart

1. Go to Walmart's photo center (see link in References). If you have an account with Walmart Photo, log in; if not, create a new account. Sign in after you create your account.

2. Click the orange "Shop Gifts" button in the "Get Started Here" box. Under the "Products" menu at the left, click "Cards."

3. Select the card format you wish, such as Greeting Card, Folded Card, or Postcard, then click "Get Started" underneath it.

4. Click your chosen design. Depending on the card, you may need to select the size and layout. Then click the orange "Create This Card" button.

5. Click "Upload New Photos" in the blue "Your Photos" menu on the right. A menu will appear. Click "Choose File," select the image file from your computer, then click "Open." Repeat if you wish to use multiple pictures. Then click "Upload Now." Your photos will appear in the "Your Photos" menu.

6. Drag the photos with your mouse from the "Your Photos" menu to the places on the card labeled "Drag Photo Here." The number of photos you can use depends on the card layout you have selected.

7. Add text, if desired, by clicking on the "Click To Add Text" button, then typing your message.

8. Click the orange "Order Card" button at the bottom right. Review the information then click "Add to Cart." Change the number of cards, if desired. Next, click "Proceed to Checkout."

9. Select a processing and delivery option, then click "Continue." Type your address then click "Continue." Select a shipping speed, if applicable, then click "Continue."

10. Type your credit card information or pay with Paypal. Click the blue "Place My Order" button.

Making Photo Cards with Zazzle

1. Go to Zazzle (see link in References). Click "Create A Card." A "Get Started" menu will appear after a few seconds.

2. Click "Select Image" then click "Select images to upload" in the resulting menu. Find the image file on your computer, click "Open," then click "OK."

3. Type text into the three labeled text boxes to add a message on the cover or inside. Click "Make It Now."

4. Click on your picture or the text in the card to edit. You can make the picture bigger or smaller, rotate it, and change the text size and font.

5. Click the number next to "Qty" to select how many cards you want to order. Then click "Add to cart."

6. Review your cart information then click "Proceed to Checkout."

7. Sign in if you already have a Zazzle account; if not, create one, then sign in.

8. Enter or select a shipping address then click "Ship to this Address."

9. Select a shipping method then click "Proceed to payment method."

10. Enter your credit card information then click "Proceed to Billing Address."

11. Enter or select a billing address, then click "Bill to this address."

12. Review your order then click "Place order now."
