How to Get the Rosetta Stone to Recognize Library Files on a CD
Rosetta Stone is a popular language software that teaches by emerging the user in images and audio. The original Rosetta Stone program comes with the software installation CD. After it's installed, the library files from your actual language have to be downloaded from another CD. This allows different languages to be added to the same Rosetta Stone software. All of the words, audio and lessons are included on this one library file CD.

Close any programs you have running on your computer. This includes Rosetta Stone if you are currently running a language lesson.

Insert the language library CD into the drive.

Launch Rosetta Stone. A prompt window will appear, asking you if you want to partake in a current software lesson or if you want to add lessons or a language to your software. Select the add the lessons or language option. The program now scans your CD drive. After the scan is complete the program downloads the contents of the disc into your software. There is only one library CD per language section. If you move on to the more advanced section you must purchase and install a different library CD.

Eject the CD. You can now log on to Rosetta Stone and begin using the newly installed lessons or language.
