How do I Repair the NTLDR in Windows XP?
The NTLDR is a file on your Windows XP computer that helps the operating system boot up when you turn on your computer. If the file is damaged or corrupted by a virus or user error, you can repair it using the Windows XP installation CD. Once the file is repaired, your computer will boot up properly.

Put your Windows XP CD into your computer.

Restart your computer, pressing any key when prompted to do so by the message on the screen.

Press the "R" key to enter the Recovery Console, press "1" and then "Enter" to log in to the console and then type in your Administrator password and press "Enter."

Type "copy d:\i386\ntldr c:\" and then press "Enter." Type "copy d:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\" and press "Enter." Replace "d:" with whatever the letter of your CD drive is if it is not d:.
