How to Make a JPEG on a Powerpoint Template

A JPEG is an image file that is ideal for Web applications because of its small size and high-quality look. This makes the JPEG format an ideal choice if you need to convert a full-color Microsoft Office document, like a PowerPoint file, into an image. Once you convert your PowerPoint template to a JPEG image, you can then email or display it online.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the Office icon ("File" in some versions of PowerPoint) on the main menu and then click "New" to start a new file. Choose a PowerPoint template from "Installed Templates."

    • 2

Select "View" and "Slide Master" on the main menu. Here you can edit the PowerPoint template to your liking (add boxes, pictures and words). Click "Close Master View" on the main menu when you're done.

    • 3

Click the Office icon once more and select "Save as" this time.

    • 4

Choose "JPEG File Interchange Format" from the "Save as type" drop-down list on the "Save as" dialog box. Name the file and click "Save."

    • 5

Select the option to export "Every Slide" when prompted. PowerPoint will convert each slide in the template to a JPEG file and save it to a new file folder on your computer. The folder name will be the name you chose in the last Step, and each slide in the template will be numbered (i.e., "Slide1," "Slide2," "Slide3" and up until the final slide of your presentation).

Tips & Warnings

  • These instructions apply to PowerPoint 2007, but the process is very similar in other versions.
