Microsoft Outlook is a versatile email organization program. However, getting the most of out your Outlook experience does require making Outlook your own. This can include organizing the contacts in your address book with names you recognize, including nicknames, as well as editing the way that email recipients see your name.

Instructions

  1. Change the Name of a Contact (Outlook 2003/2007)

      Open the Contacts folder.

      Double-click the contact whose name you want to change. In the window that opens, edit the contact's name.

      Click "Save."

    • 4

      Close the "Contact" window.

    Change E-Mail Display Name (Outlook 2003/2007)

      Click "Account Settings" under the "Tools" menu.

    • 6

      Select the e-mail account you wish to edit from the "E-mail" tab.

      Click "Change."

    • 8

      Change your name to the way you want it to be viewed by e-mail recipients in the "Your Name" box under the "User Information" section.

      Click "Next." Then click "Finish."

Tips & Warnings

  • These instructions will not work for Microsoft Exchange accounts. If you are using a Microsoft Exchange account, contact your administrator to make any changes.
