How to Fix a Soap Pump
Just when your hands are covered in flour does your soap dispenser pump refuse to work. When you finally get your hands washed and try to see what the issue is you can't figure it out, and it's especially hard if your dispenser is attached to your sink. The solution to this problem can range from a simple fix to having to replace the soap pump itself. Try the various solutions below and one of them should solve your soap pump problem. Fill 'er Up

Check your soap level. The pump may not be dispensing soap because the reservoir is out of soap.

Unscrew the top and pour in your regular soap until the reservoir has been filled.

Replace the pump and give it a few presses to get the soap into the tubing. This is the simplest of fixes.

Unscrew the pump from the base and dip the part under water.

Press the plunger several times to loosen any thickened soap until it is released.

Soak the part under hot water overnight if Step 2 does not work immediately. Press the plunger again in the morning and the hot water should have softened any dry or thick soap from the tube.

Pump a small amount of cooking oil through the plunger and tubing to help keep it greased. This should help make it easier for soap to travel through the tubing.

Screw the pump back into the base.

Purchase a new plunger from any hardware store, or a online retailer.

Install the new pump into your base, and press the plunger a few times to get the soap into the tube.

Dispose of your old pump.
