How to Convert Yahoo Calendar to Outlook

In addition to offering free email services, Yahoo! also offers free online calendar management for users with active Yahoo! accounts. Yahoo! Calendar allows users to keep track of events, to-do items and reminders for important dates. Since Yahoo! does not provide a way to sync Yahoo! Calendar with Microsoft Outlook, users switching to Outlook will need to convert their Yahoo! Calendar to a file format that can be imported into Outlook.

• Yahoo! account user name and password

Instructions

1. Log in to your Yahoo! account and access your Yahoo! Calendar by clicking on the "Calendar" tab at the top of the Yahoo! home page.

2. Click "Options" at the Yahoo! Calendar page. Click "Import/Export" in the Management column of the Options page. Click "Export Now" in the section titled "Export to Outlook." Enter a file name and navigate to a file location for the .csv file to be exported to.

3. Launch Microsoft Outlook and select "Import and Export" from the "File" menu. Choose "Import from another program or file" from the items presented and click "Next" to continue. Choose the option for "Comma Separated Value (Windows)" from the file formats shown and click "Next."

4. Navigate to the location of the .csv file exported earlier from Yahoo! Calendar and click the check box for "Do not import duplicate items." Click "Next" to continue. Select "Calendar" for the Outlook folder to import to and click "Next" to import the calendar information.

5. Compare the entries in your Yahoo! Calendar with those imported into Outlook to make sure they match.

Tips & Warnings

• Choose a file name and location that can be easily remembered when exporting the .csv file from Yahoo! Calendar.
