How to Memorize Fast

Knowing how to memorize things quickly can come in handy if you are trying to remember lines for a play, a presentation for work or school or a speech for a wedding. The key is to break down the information into small pieces and memorize it one chunk at a time.

Instructions

    • 1

Break the material that you need to know into manageable chunks. Write two or three sentences on an index card. Put all of the information you need to memorize onto separate cards.

    • 2

Memorize your first index card by reciting it out loud. Continue repeating the sentences out loud until you can remember the information without looking at the card. Once you've got that one down, recite the second card until you can recite index cards one and two without looking at the cards. Then, move on to the third and fourth cards. Repeat this step until you have memorized the information on all of your index cards and can recite it sequentially.

    • 3

Practice reciting the information in order to retain what you have learned. Record your voice while you practice reciting the material and listen to your recording while you read along with your index cards. Bring all of your senses into the process to firmly implant the information into your memory.
