How to Create a Soul Patch

A soul patch is a type of facial hair that is slightly related to the goatee. While the goatee is typically a patch of hair found on the chin, a soul patch is a patch of hair centered under your bottom lip. It originally became popular among jazz artists in the 1950s and 1960s, and has become more fashionable in recent years. Shaving to create a soul patch is an easy process that can be achieved in a matter of minutes.

Things You'll Need

• Shaving cream
• Razor
• After shave/toner

Instructions

1. Wet your face and apply your favorite brand of shaving cream. Lather the cream/gel in your hands and then apply it to the face in a smooth, circular motion.

2. Using your razor, remove all the hair from your face except for that immediately under your bottom lip. Your soul patch should be centered, and you can make it as wide or as narrow as you want. Repeat this process, allowing the hair to grow over time.

3. Make any finishing additions you need to style your soul patch, including coloring it, if you desire.

4. Apply after shave, toner or cold water to rinse any remaining cream or stray whiskers off your face.
