Step 1
Use a preformed raffia braid - it's easier than trying to make your own.

Open a bag of potpourri and pick out all of the large pieces.

Glue these items to the front of the braid.

Make raffia bows by separating colored raffia into sections of six strands.

Step 5
Fold each section into a figure eight.

Step 6
Use floral tape on the center to complete the bow.

Step 7
Glue raffia bows at even intervals along the braid, beginning at the top.

Trim each wheat stalk stem to 1/2 inch from the bottom of the head.

Glue two or three heads on each bow.

Step 10
Arrange the fall picks on the braid in alternating patterns. You can trim them with wire cutters.

Add preserved oak leaves randomly to the braid.

Glue acorns and smaller pieces of potpourri where filler is needed.
