How To Connect PC to Windows Home Server
Running Windows Home Server allows you to connect to other computers in your house and even send data from one system to another. However, before you can begin enjoying the benefits of using a Windows server in your home you need to connect the PC you are running to the server. You can accomplish this feat with only a few clicks of your mouse and possibly a password.

1
Determine what kind of Windows server you are running. Most new servers are wireless which allows for an easier connection, however some homes do use a wired connection. If you do not have a wireless router connected to your server you need to connect to the server via Ethernet cable.
-
2
Plug the Ethernet cable into the server modem. Insert the cable into any of the numbered plugs on the rear of the modem (if you need to connect to the server through a wire).

-
3
Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on your computer. Once it is connected, a light appears next to the port.
-
4
Power on your computer. Right-click either the wired or wireless connection icon in the lower right corner of the desktop. A wired connection icon has two monitors, while a wireless icon has a single icon.
-
5
Select "Enable" from the pull-down menu. Right-click the icon again and select "Search for connections." The computer now searches for available server connections. If your computer is connected via Ethernet cable the scan takes far less time.

6
Select the server connection and type in the password for the server. Click "Connect," and in a moment the computer connects to the wired or wireless server.
