How to Make Lattice Fringe With Yarn
Lattice fringe is an attractive way to finish an afghan or a crocheted sweater. A row of filet crochet is made, consisting of double crochet stitches and spaces, creating a row of full and empty boxes. The empty spaces are then used as a base for connecting fringe to finish off the edging. Make a slip knot and pass the crochet hook into the loop. Chain stitch until the chain is as long as you want your lattice trim to be.

Turn, skip one chain and single crochet in every chain after that until you reach the end of the chain. Chain three and turn.

Skip one stitch and then make one double crochet. Skip the next two stitches and then double crochet in the next two stitches. Continue skipping two and then double crocheting two until you have reached the end of the row.

Chain one and turn. Skip the first stitch and single crochet in every stitch after that until the end of the row. Fasten off the yarn and weave in the end.

Cut multiple pieces of the same yarn that are 4 inches long. Fold one piece of yarn in half so that you have a loop at one end and two ends at the other. Pass the loop through one of the large empty spaces in the lattice that were created by skipping stitches.

Grasp the loop when it comes out of the other side of the lattice. Gently pull the loop down and pass the two ends of the yarn through this loop. Pull the two yarn ends taut until the fringe is secure. Make another fringe piece exactly the same way in this same opening.
