How to Delete Windows Live Mail

Log in to your computer with a user account that has administrator privileges. You will need these privileges to remove the software from your computer. If you use a regular user account without administrator privileges, you may encounter errors during the deletion process, or the process may not work at all.

Click on the "Start" button, click on the "Control Panel" button, and then open either the "Add/Remove Programs" section (if you are on Windows XP) or the "Programs and Features" section (if you are on Windows Vista or 7).

Wait for the list of installed programs to fully load in the window. Once this process has completed, select the Windows Live Services icon from the list and either click on the "Remove" button (if you are on Windows XP) or right-click on the icon and select the "Remove or Uninstall" button (if you are on Windows Vista or 7). This will launch the automated uninstallation process. When the uninstallation program first starts up, choose which Live applications you want to uninstall (deselect all but Live Mail if that's all you want to remove), then click the "Next" button. Follow the rest of the uninstallation process through to the end according to the instructions displayed on the screen, then restart your computer. Wait for the computer to boot back up then log in and verify that the software has been removed from your computer by looking at the installed programs list.

Tips & Warnings
Save your files and close down any other programs before beginning the deletion process so that you don't lose any data when you restart your computer.
If your email was automatically imported from Outlook or another program into Live Mail when you installed the application, you will lose all of your email and settings once the Windows Live Mail program is removed. However, your data will be left intact in the original source that it was imported from, as long as you did not delete or remove the data or original application.

I wish someone would tell me how to delete email in Windows Live WITHOUT opening it, or WITHOUT having the next email in the que open automatically. I have good antivirus but the issue is each time you open one of these stupid unwanted emails it tells the sender that your email account is an active one. Result? More unwanted email!
