How to Install Safari 4 on Windows XP

The latest version of Apple's Web browser, Safari 4, is compatible with both Mac and Windows computers. If you have an administrative account on your Windows XP-based computer, you can download Safari 4 from Apple's website and install it on your system. There is no charge for downloading Safari 4, and the application can be used in conjunction with other Web browsers like Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Instructions

1. Go to the Safari webpage (see Resources) and click the "Free Download" button.

2. Select the "Safari for Windows XP, Vista or 7" option, type your e-mail address and click "Download Now."

3. Choose to save the installation file on your desktop and then wait for the file to finish downloading.

4. Double-click the "SafariSetup.exe" icon to launch the installer.

5. Accept the software license agreement and click "Next."

6. Click the "Change" button if you want to install Safari's program files somewhere other than the default location. A pop-up window will open, where you can select an alternative installation folder. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the program and then click "OK."

7. Click "Install" to begin installing the Safari application on your computer. The installation process should take less than five minutes.
