A motocross bike can provide hours of fun and excitement. Bikes like the Suzuki DRZ are built to eat up dirt and fly through the air with the greatest of ease. But not even a Suzuki DRZ will work the way it was designed to if you don't change the oil.
Things You'll Need
- Oil drain pan
- Socket extension
- 12 mm socket
- 14 mm socket
- 8 mm socket
- Oil filter
- 16 mm socket
- 2 liters oil
Use your fingers to unscrew the oil filler, found just below the handlebars.
Place an oil drain pan beneath both the oil plug and the crank case plug under the bike.
Remove the oil plug with a 12 mm socket and your ratchet.
Remove the crank case plug with the ratchet and the 14 mm socket.
Stand the bike up and tip it slightly back and forth to allow all the oil to drain from the oil pan and the crank case.
Remove the oil filter canister cover on the right hand side of the bike with the ratchet and an 8 mm socket.
Remove the old filter and gasket and wipe the inside of the filter canister clean with a rag.
Insert the new filter.
Put the gasket back on the oil filter canister cover, and put the cover back over the filter, making sure that the arrow on the outside of the canister cover is pointing up.
Replace the oil plug and crank case bolts and make sure they are tightened down with the ratchet and appropriate socket.
Take your funnel and place it in the oil filler hole.
Pour in 1.8 liters of oil and return the oil filler cap.
