How to Play "The Sims" Computer Game
"The Sims" is the original, and first of EA Games series of games simulating life. In "The Sims," your character experiences what is like real-life as they build homes, pursue careers and romance. Playing the original Sims can make for hours of enjoyment as players delve into imaginative scenarios and interesting character interactions.

Install the your retail copy of The Sims following the prompts after inserting the disc.

Launch the game after the installation is complete.

Click the "Options" menu once the game is loaded.

Choose the proper screen resolution for your monitor size. Many flat-screen monitors have a resolution of 1490 by 900.

Choose the "Edge-scrolling" option to allow your mouse to rotate and move the screen easily during game play.

Click the "New Game" tab to the left side of the screen.

Choose the gender and general appearance of your character or Sim.

Give a name to your Sim and choose the Sim's personality.

Click "Start" on the game tab to the left, and enjoy the game. In the beginning a tutorial will walk you through the general game play. It is recommended that beginners start the game with the tutorial, which will teach you how to build houses on lots and move your Sims into them.

Exit the tutorial and begin your Sims new life by entering a new home. Sims ordinarily start with approximately 20,000 Simoleons, which is the currency of Sim world. Purchase a home within your Sim's budget.

Gain money and happiness rewards by completing your Sim's lifetime wishes. Lifetime wishes show up in a small window at the very bottom of the game screen. Fulfilling each lifetime wish will gain happiness points. Rewards like speedy cleaner, fast learner and legendary host can be purchased as your happiness points rack up.

Interact with other Sims in your neighborhood by inviting them over to parties and intimate dates. Sims can fall in love, get married and have children together.

Keep your Sim's happiness meter up, and unlock new skills and items to be purchased in the Sims store.
