How to Transfer Programs to an SD Card
SD cards are removable memory cards that allow you to put files from cell phones, PDAs, digital cameras and digital camcorders onto a personal computer. They also allow you to download files onto the computer and move them to the PDA or cell phone. Most SD cards are formatted with the FAT16 or FAT32 file systems, and are readable by virtually all major operating systems on the market. Transferring programs onto the SD card is a simple process that anyone can manage with the proper knowledge.

Mount your SD card using an SD card reader. Your computer may have one built in, or you can use an external USB card reader. Many external devices that use SD cards, like PDAs and digital cameras can plug directly into the computer using a firewire/ USB cord and then act as a SD card reader.

Locate the SD card. All operating systems treat the SD card as another drive connected to the system. Access the SD card as you would any other drive. Open it using the file explorer.

Open a second file explorer window to the location of the programs you want to transfer to the SD card. Highlight a program and copy it.

Click in the window showing the SD card and paste the program there. You can also cut and paste the program into the SD card or drag it from one window to the other and drop it.

Tips & Warnings
You can highlight multiple programs to transfer them by holding down the "Ctrl" button and clicking on each before you copy or cut and paste, or drag and drop.
Make sure you eject the SD card or unmount it according to the proper procedure for your operating system so that you can be sure the information writes and saves to the SD card before you remove it.
