Things You'll Need

  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Chocolate ice cream
  • Strawberry ice cream
  • 1 banana per serving
  • Hot fudge syrup, heated
  • Pineapple ice cream topping
  • Strawberry ice cream topping
  • Canned whipped cream
  • Rinsed and drained maraschino cherries, stems attached
  • Chopped almonds or peanuts

      Toast the almonds in a non-stick skillet on the stove. Remove from heat.

      Peel the banana and slice it in half length-wise. Place it in a long serving dish or your banana split glass. Place one scoop of each of the ice cream flavors in the bowl in a row, with the chocolate ice cream in the middle.

      Use just enough topping to lightly cover the ice cream scoops. Place pineapple topping over the vanilla ice cream. Place strawberry topping over the strawberry ice cream. Place the warm hot fudge topping over the chocolate ice cream. You can also mix and match to your preference.

      Add whipped cream in an artistic swirl to the top of the ice cream. Sprinkle the whipped cream with the toasted almonds or peanuts. Place a rinsed and drained maraschino cherry on top of the center scoop or all three scoops. Serve with a long-handle spoon.
