1
Visit the websites you would consider using to sell your used books online. Some common sites people use to sell books for cash are eBay, Amazon.com, Half.com, Alibris and Craigslist. All of these sites require you to register. Some of these sites may have insertion fees, take a percentage of the final selling price or allow you to charge only a certain amount for shipping. Make sure you understand the terms.
-
2
List each book name and ISBN, a 10- or 13-digit number usually found on the back of the book. Most sites will allow you to list the book by its ISBN, and you sometimes can see what that same book has sold for previously on the site.

3
Describe the condition of the book honestly. You may think you can make more money by saying a book in excellent condition, but if the book arrives looking worn, has tears or is marked up by highlights, the purchaser can make a complaint. Some sites may ban you from using their selling services and refund the customer's money.
-
4
Get a tracking number for the sold books you send. If the purchaser reports that he never got the book, he can get his money back and you will be without the book and the cash.
