Your Internet history tells you what you've been doing online. When you want to be sure that you remember where you were, you'll need to save your Internet history. If your history has been deleted or has disappeared, you'll want to know how to restore the history. Either way, the history is important to you.

Save History

Open your web browser. If you use more than one, do this in all of them.

Click on the "Options" or "Settings" tab for the browser to view your settings.

Choose "History settings" to view the history settings for that browser.

Double-check that "Save history" is set, and specify how long you would like to save the history. With some browsers, you can save the history indefinitely.

Restore Internet History

Download a history restore program (see Resources section) if your history is lost or erased.

Run the program.

Specify the dates you would like the program to search for, and it will find any hidden or deleted histories.
