How to Create a Transparent GIF in Paintshop Pro
Paint Shop Pro gives users many different ways to manipulate graphics and create new and exciting images. A transparent GIF serves as a useful addition to many different graphics projects. When you use a transparent GIF, you have an image with a transparent portion, often the background. These transparent backgrounds allow you to highlight the focal image without a background distracting form the overall image.

Create a simple image to learn this technique by creating a new background layer with dimensions of 200 pixels by 200 pixels. Fill in this background layer with white. Draw a filled oval on the background layer with a different, contrasting color (blue, for example). You should now have a filled oval on a background of white. Merge the layers into one layer.
