How to Make Your Own Clone From Star Wars
To create a "Clone Wars" character from "Star Wars," first you must decide if you will represent the dark side of the force or the light. Regardless if you are male or female, anyone can transform into a "Clone Wars" warrior costume. The majority of the pieces of the costume can be found in your own closet or with a few small purchases at a local thrift or fabric store. If you choose to go with a dark-side character, a Stormtrooper or Jango Fett costume would be the best choice. An ideal character of the light side of the force would be an Anakin Skywalker or Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Dark-Side Clone
-
1
Research the desired character through watching the "Star Wars" prequel films or by searching the Internet. Once you have decided on a character, begin gathering the necessary pieces.
-
2
Cut the bottom flaps of of a small box for the helmet. Both the Fett and Stormtrooper costumes are constructed mainly of body armor and both with armor covering the face. The helmet piece should be approximately a foot wide and a foot tall, but this could vary based on your size. Cut a slit for the eyes on the Fett costume or large ovals for the Stormtrooper.

3
Cut holes in the sides for arms as well as the flaps off the bottom of a larger, approximately 3-foot-tall-and-2-foot-wide box. This will form the chest armor. Cut a pizza-wedge shape off the bottom front corners of the box. Paint the head and torso piece to match the costume of your selected character.
-
4
Measure a poster board around your arms and legs to determine the correct size to fit all the way around. Once determined, cut the strips out of the poster board and attach Velcro to the inside of the tubes as well as to the pants you will be wearing underneath the costume. Roll the strips into a tube and secure with tape or glue.
-
5
Research the facial markings on Fett or the Stormtrooper and draw or paint them on the head box. If you are portraying Fett, tie a long piece of fabric around your neck as a cape if desired.
Light-Side Clone

6
Wear calf-length boots over brown or blacks slacks to begin a Kenobi or Skywalker costume. Add a neutral-colored tan, brown or black tunic. Over the tunic, add a long vest and tie a brown or black belt over the vest. These costumes will be much more loose, flowing and soft than that of the dark-side costumes.
-
7
Add a long, flowing cloak to top off the costume. A dark-colored bathrobe would work well for this piece.
-
8
Carry a lightsaber. This can either be purchased or homemade. If creating your own, paint a long cardboard tube, or several paper towel tubes glued together, blue, green or purple. Don't paint the bottom portion, leaving it brown or, if desired, painting it black or silver. Cut a hole in a toilet paper tube and thread the larger tube through the hole, creating a "T" at the end to complete the handle. Glue in place.

Tips & Warnings
The dark-side costumes wear all black clothing underneath the boxes. This will keep others from being distracted by the clothes underneath as well as keep you in accordance with the actual character's attire. For both light and dark costumes, wear black boots.
