How to Use a Mac for Stained Glass Patterns
You want to design your own stained glass patterns on a Mac. Good news, it doesn't take a lot of expensive software. All you need is a basic graphics program and some design inspiration. There's a free, open source Mac program called Seashore that can be used to create stained glass patterns. Of course, if you have access to Photoshop or Illustrator those programs work well, too.

1
Sketch your stained glass idea. It doesn't have to be precise, it's just to give you a guideline. You'll find it's easier to "draw" on a computer if you already have an idea what your end result should look like.

2
Open a graphics program. Any program will do. Professional graphics software, such as Photoshop and Illustrator, have something called "bezier curves" that you can use to make clean, curved lines. You can also draw curves freehand using any graphics program.

3
Set the image size. On most Mac graphics programs, the image size option is found under the "Image" menu in the top toolbar. Go to the Image Size options and enter the size you want your finished pattern to be.

4
Create your design and print. If you've never made a stained glass pattern before, you might have a bit of a learning curve. It takes a little practice to draw with a mouse. Stick with it, take your time and refer to your sketch. When you're finished, just print and use.

Tips & Warnings
To practice drawing with graphics programs, download an existing stained glass pattern and make changes to it by erasing lines and drawing new ones.
If you want to resell your stained glass patterns, use Illustrator or another vector image program. Vector patterns can be scaled without losing quality and will provide cleaner print-outs.
