How to Set Up a Vizio HDTV
Vizio is a popular electronics brand with a line of high definition televisions. If you just purchased an HDTV Vizio, you need to know how to set it up and connect it properly. Although there are instructions that come with the TV, you may have purchased it out of the box, in which case there are no instructions of any kind given to you and you are left in the dark.

1
Remove all of the contents from the Vizio box (if it came in a box.) Find the stand for the Vizio TV and slide it into the opening at the bottom of the television.
-
2
Attach the four screws into the rear of the Vizio television using your Phillips screwdriver.
-
-
3
Set the Vizio television on an entertainment center or electronics display and connect to a power source using the power cord running out of the back of the television.
-
4
Determine how you want to connect your outside devices (such as your cable receiver, DVD player or gaming device.) Using an HDMI cable is the best if you want to view your content in HD. Although component cables can send HD signals between the devices you need five cables to do the work of the one single HDMI cable.
-
5
Plug the connection cables into the back of the hardware you want to connect to the Vizio TV.
-
6
Connect the other ends of the cables into the "In" ports on the TV. If you are using RCA cables (red, white and yellow) plug them into the "Video In" ports. If using component (blue, green, and red for video, and red and white for audio) plug them into the "Component In" ports. HDMI cables plug into the "HDMI" ports.
