How to Get a Good Workout Using Exercise DVDs
Workout videos have always been a huge part of the home entertainment market. A user can program the DVD to get the exact workout he wants. Best of all, there are no straggling classmates to slow him down. Most of the DVDs do have an aggressive instructor, though the user can always turn down the sound.

1
Think about how you want to use the DVD program. A DVD designed to lose weight will have a different approach than one designed to increase flexibility.
-
2
Rent different exercise videos and preview them before you buy one. Some of the exercise videos are also on You Tube or Collage Video. Read the reviews of the DVDs to get an idea for what others thought of the product.

3
Get a DVD that suits your level of workout. Programs like P90X are backed by aggressive national ad campaigns and may seem appealing for that reason. However, P90X is an extremely intensive workout that may not suit someone just starting out.

Reserve time each day to play the DVD and stick to the schedule. In a perfect world, use two or three different exercise DVDs a week, and set up a schedule for each one. Set up a workout space in front of the monitor and perform the exercises as directed by the onscreen instructor. If the instructor or the music are annoying, just turn down the sound.
