- Wooden spoon

Identify the front and back of the slipcover. There will usually be a tag or sticker that marks the front, back and sides to ensure proper positioning of the slipcover.

Place the slipcover over the sofa, stretching the bottom all the way to the ground. Concentrate on covering the center of the sofa first, and then bring the material out to the sides. Smooth the fabric around the back and sides of the sofa to help it conform to the proper shape.
