How to Reset an Internet Explorer Password
Internet Explorer versions 6 and up integrate a feature known as Content Advisor, which requires a password to use. Content Advisor helps parents control what their children have access to on the Internet by providing a list of acceptable websites, thus blocking unacceptable ones in the process. If for some reason the supervisor password in Internet Explorer needs to be changed, it can easily be done using the "Internet Options" menu.

Tips & Warnings
Be sure to create a strong password with letters, numbers and characters.
Choose a password that cannot be guessed by your children.
When including a password hint, use clues that your children will not be able to decipher.
Do not forget the supervisor password. It is best to keep a paper copy of your password in a safe place for additional aid if necessary. Resetting a forgotten Internet Explorer Content Advisor password is a much more invasive process and involves editing the computer's registry keys. Working with the registry is risky, as the wrong move can cause irreversible damage to a computer.
