How to Change the AirPort Card in a Macbook
One of the principal features on any laptop is the ability to surf the Internet, and these days many of them connect to the Internet wirelessly. If you own a MacBook and have found that your Internet connection isn't working, chances are the problem is with its AirPort card. For most people, when they need to change the AirPort card in their MacBook, they take it to a technician. However, there is a way to change the AirPort card yourself. All it takes is a little time and some concentration.

Turn your MacBook upside-down and insert the penny into the battery cover slot. Rotate the coin to unlock the battery cover. Remove the cover and set it aside. Gently slide the battery out and set it aside.

Loosen the three screws on the L-shaped metal bracket on the side of the battery compartment with your Phillips-head screwdriver and remove them. Remove the bracket and set it aside.

Remove the screws from three sides of the MacBook: two on the side with the CD drive, three screws from the other side of the MacBook (the side with all of the input ports) and four screws from the back of the MacBook.

Turn the MacBook over again and remove the three screws in the battery compartment that are under where the L bracket used to rest. Then remove the four screws from the opposite side of the battery compartment.

Remove the two screws from the connector side of the compartment and then remove the three screws just above the battery compartment. The keyboard will now be able to be removed from the MacBook.

Turn the MacBook over and remove the keyboard to reveal the motherboard. Unclip the orange keypad ribbon from the motherboard by gently pulling it away from the motherboard. It should easily pop off.

Locate the rectangular AirPort card in the middle of the motherboard. Gently remove the small black antennas that cover it.

Slide the old AirPort card out, replace it with the new one (available at Apple retail stores and online) and reassemble the computer in the reverse order you took it apart.
