How to File for Stimulus Grant Money Over the Internet
-
1
Determine your economic stimulus eligibility. In order to qualify, you must have never received an economic stimulus payment last year because it is only granted to individuals on a one-time basis. Stimulus grant money is available for individuals who never received their full economic stimulus payment or if the taxpayer's tax information has changed.
You may qualify for a recovery rebate credit only if your family has gained an additional during last year, or if you claim a dependent on last year's tax return. Individuals who did not have a valid social security number last year, but received one in the current year may also qualify.

File for stimulus grant money on the 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ form. Go online to the tax refund center of your choice. Register for an Internet tax refund center free of charge through Turbo Tax or File Free. Follow the set of instructions on these online forms. The online tax refund center will figure the stimulus grant money available to you based off of the information you have given.

If your filing status changed during last year's tax season, follow the online tax center's directions to make those changes so you will not lose out on the stimulus grant money. See the IRS's interactive tool and rebate calculator on its official website to calculate how much you will qualify for if you would like to know the earnings awarded before you file.

Set up a stimulus payment direct deposit if you have an active bank account. Taxpayers who qualify to receive last year's stimulus payment need not request direct deposit if they already have an account set up from last year. Expect to receive a paper check by mail if you do not have a direct deposit account. In order to receive payment quicker, it is recommended that you register with direct deposit.
