How to Convert Word Documents Into Email

You've just completed your Word document and formatted it exactly the way you want it to look. You're now ready to share the document with your boss. You can print a copy of the document, or better yet, you can send the document by email, saving toner and paper. To turn your Word document into an email program, you don't need to leave Microsoft Word. You just need to use the default email program already set up on your computer. Word adds an email header to your document so you can utilize features of your email.

Option One

  • Start Microsoft Word and open the document you want to convert.

  • Select "File," "Send To" and "Mail Recipient (for Review)." The email header will be inserted to the top of your page.

  • Enter the recipient's name in the "To:" field and a subject in the "Subject" line. To send a blind carbon copy, click on "bcc" in the email header. The "Bcc" textbox will appear. Enter the person's name in the text box.

  • Click on the "Send a Copy" button to complete the delivery.

Option Two

  • Copy the contents of your Word document, and then open an email program of your choice.

  • Paste your content directly into the body of your email.

  • Enter the email address and subject line in the email header, and click on "Send."
