How to String a Diamond Kite

Diamond kites are just what they sound like--kites in the shape of a diamond. They're the type of kite that Charlie Brown tried, but so frequently failed, to fly. You should have better luck--but before you can get your newly purchased kite off the ground you have to attach the string securely to the kite itself in such a way that it will fly and handle as designed.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the kite bridle, which are the cords attached to the body of the kite itself. They should come together in a single loop.

    • 2

Clip one side of a swivel to the loop in the kite's bridle.

    • 3

Tie a lark's head knot (see Resources) in the end of the kite string.

    • 4

Clip the other end of the swivel into the lark's head knot you just tied.
