      Remove the battery cover. Press the release button for the battery cover and slide off the battery cover.

      Reinsert the battery, making sure the metal contacts of the battery align snugly with the metal contacts on the side of the device.

      Charge the battery if the device doesn't power up. The device turns on when the battery is charged. Hold the red phone button down for 5 to 10 seconds. Charge the battery if the device does not come on after this.

      Check the SIM card. If the SIM card is missing, remove it from the packaging and install it. The corner of the SIM card should point toward the top of your device.
