How to Add a Device Driver
When attaching hardware to your computer, you typically need to install a driver for the device. The driver allows the computer to know exactly how to handle and respond to the hardware, be it a mouse or a printer. Most devices that require a driver have a driver installation disk that comes along with the product; however, if such a disk isn't present, you can download one from the manufacturer's site.

Connect the hardware to the computer, and insert the driver installation CD. In a moment the installation wizard loads.

2
Accept the license agreement, and then follow the prompts of the wizard until the installation completes. Leave the prompts as the default settings. Changing the settings can result in the computer being unable to detect the hardware and know how to use it properly.
