How to Make Doo Rags
Keeping hair in place and retaining heat on the head in the case of hair loss are just some of the reasons to choose to wear a doo rag. Things You'll Need
- Fabric, 3' x 3'
- Scissors
- Sewing pins
- Permanent marker
- Sewing machine
- Thread

Choose the fabric you want to use for this project. A three-foot-by-three foot square of fabric should be plenty. It can be cotton, nylon, plain or patterned.

Measure your head from your forehead to the back of your neck where it meets the shoulders. Then measure from ear to ear, going over the top of your head to do this. Take these two measurements and mark them on the fabric that you have chosen. This should make a rectangle. Mark out another strip of material that is three inches wide and three feet long.

Cut out the rectangle and strip that you have just measured with a pair of sharp scissors.

Fold the edges of these pieces over twice and pin down with sewing pins. Hem the edges of both pieces. Center the strip on one of the narrow ends of the rectangle and hem them together.
