How to Test Using the Conficker Eye Chart

Conficker is basically a computer worm that can damage your Microsoft Windows operating system. The Conficker Eye Chart is a simple way to determine if your system is infected and what type of worm is present. If you determine your operating system has been infected by Conficker, contact a computer repair specialist right away.

Instructions

    • 1

Perform a simple Internet search for the Conficker Eye Chart (see Resources). What you're able to view in the chart will tell you if your computer has been infected.

    • 2

Look carefully at the six boxes in the Conficker Eye Chart. The top three images are logos, and the bottom three are cartoon pictures.

    • 3

Determine how many of the images you can see. If you can see them all, your system has not been infected. If you can't see the top three, your system has been infected with the C variant of Conficker or greater. If you can't see the images in the upper right and upper left corners, your system has been infected with the A or B Conficker variant.

    • 4

Understand that if you can't see any of the images, then image loading is probably turned off in your browser.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you see any other combination of images in the Conficker Eye Chart, then there's most likely a problem with your Internet connection.
