Virtual PCs are computers within a computer as far as the operating systems are concerned.

Virtual PC 2007 is a program that allows you to create a computer located within a computer, enabling you to run multiple iterations of the Windows operating system concurrently. This enables you to run legacy software and other applications that might not be fully compatible with the latest version of Windows. Creating a virtual PC to run on your computer is a fairly simple task that requires nothing but a little time and patience.

Instructions

    • 1

Download and install Virtual PC 2007 on your computer (see Resources).

    • 2

Run Virtual PC 2007 and press the "New" button to create a new virtual computer.

    • 3

Select the option to "Create a New Virtual Machine." Assign your computer a name, then select an operating system for your computer from the menu that appears on the screen.

    • 4

Add RAM to your computer by assigning it a value using the sliding scale that appears on the screen.

    • 5

Choose the option to create a "New Virtual Hard Disk," then assign your hard drive a name.

    • 6

Choose the "Finish" option when you are done configuring your PC. You now have a working virtual PC to do with as you please.
