How to Roast Cashews

Roasted cashews are a delicious and healthy snack. You can save money by buying raw nuts and roasting them yourself. Does this Spark an idea?

  • 1/2 lb. raw cashews
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • 1/2 tbsp. salt
  • shallow baking pan

Instructions

  1. How to Roast Cashews

    • 1

      Preheat your oven to 250 degrees F.

      Toss cashews with cooking oil and salt to coat.

    • 3

      Spread the cashews no more than three layers deep in a shallow baking dish.

    • 4

      Place the dish in the preheated oven and roast for fifteen minutes.

      Stir cashews well and roast for another fifteen minutes.

      Spread waxed paper onto a counter or table. Spread the cashews out onto the waxed paper and allow to cool for at least twenty minutes before eating or storing them.

Tips & Warnings

  • The type of cooking oil you use will change the flavor of the nuts slightly. Try different oils until you find your favorite. Some tasty options include peanut oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil and olive oil.
