How to Create Your Own Avatar for Makeover Games

Avatars are popular in online communities where users use them to represent themselves and to interact with other users. They allow people to post an image to represent themselves online without having to expose their real-life photos on the Internet. One popular activity for avatar users is to make over their avatars and other's avatars. Numerous instant messaging services offer avatar makeover plugins so that users can make over each other's avatars, but in order to do so, each user must have a basic avatar with which to begin. With an avatar generator, you can create your own avatar for makeover games.

Instructions

1. Navigate to a website that offers an avatar generator (see References), and select the option to create your avatar. Some websites might require you to register for a free account with them before you can utilize their avatar generator.

2. Select your avatar's facial properties, which will not change when your avatar is made over in makeover games. Choose your avatar's eyes, nose, lips and skin color.

3. Choose your avatar's body type and hair color and style. These also will not change when your avatar is made over.

4. Select your avatar's clothing and accessories, which is what other users will change when they make over your avatar.

5. Click "Save" to save your avatar, which now possesses all the basic properties needed for a makeover.

Tips & Warnings

• Right-click your avatar and select "Save Picture As" from the drop-down menu that appears to save your avatar to your computer. Then upload it to your social networking profile or instant messengers to display to others.

• Beware of navigating away from the avatar generator before saving your avatar because you will lose your work if you do.
