How to Check Hours on a Samsung Plasma TV

Save

Samsung DLP plasma television sets have an internal lamp that is required for the TV's operation. These lamps must be changed periodically, normally after a specific number of hours (dictated by the manufacturer of the specific lamp you've purchased.) Luckily, the television itself is programmed to keep track of how many hours the lamp has been in use. You can check the lamp hours using the menu system of your Samsung DLP plasma TV.

  • Turn on your Samsung DLP plasma television set.

  • Press the "Menu" button on your TV's remote control. This will bring up a menu system on the television's screen.

  • Turn off the "Melody" option in the TV's menu. Press "Menu" again to exit the on screen menu.

  • Press the following buttons on your Samsung remote quickly, one after another:

"Power," then "Mute," then "1," then "8," then "2," then "Power." This will bring up your Samsung DLP TV's Service menu.

  • Look at the number next to the "LAMPLIFE" listing. This is the number of hours your lamp has been used.
