How to Set Up a Template in Microsoft Outlook

If you find yourself continually typing the same form over and over again in emails, you can spare yourself the frustration of constant retyping. Instead of retyping the information, you can create a template in Microsoft Outlook which will save the form for later use. That way, you just need to open the form again when you need to use it.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the "Tools" option, then click on the "Options" setting, then click on the "Mail Format" tab in the window that appears.

    • 2

Uncheck the "Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages" box and click "Apply." Then click "OK.

    • 3

Create a new email in Outlook. Give it a proper subject.

    • 4

Create your template. Leave spaces to fill in later when you use the template.

    • 5

Go to "File," then click "Save As."

    • 6

Name your file, then choose "Outlook Template" in the "Save as type" setting. Then click "Save" to save your template.
