How to Record Telephone Calls
Maybe you're having an argument with someone and want to check to see if you've said something that you shouldn't have, or perhaps you need to record a telephone call for legal reasons. Whatever the case, technology makes it easier than ever to record calls and provides you with several options to choose from.

Purchase a PC-USB phone recorder. You can buy these online from any spy-gadget store or from eBay or Amazon. As of 2010, these systems cost around $200.

Setup the recorder. Simply take the phone line running from the wall and plug it into the recording device. Then take the telephone line included with the device and connect it to your phone.

Plug the USB cable from the device into your computer.

Install the software by putting the CD into your drive and following the directions.

Test the recorder by picking up your phone and looking at the device. You should see a green light on it if it is installed correctly. If you do not get the light, check to make sure that there are no loose cable connections.

Record your calls by launching the software application. Choose whether you want your calls recorded automatically or manually. The calls are saved as MP3 or WAV files and can be emailed and stored digitally on your computer.
