How to Hook Up a Laptop to a Sony Projector
If you need to do a product demonstration or presentation, a projector can be a big help. With a laptop and a projector you can instantly project the image on your screen to a room full of people, increasing the effectiveness of your presentation and making your company look more professional.

Place the projector on a table or desk. Make sure that you have a clear shot between the front of the projector and the wall or screen where you plan to show your presentation.

Connect the monitor cable to the monitor port on your projector. The monitor port will be small and nearly square, and it will often be blue in color. Connect the monitor cable to that port and fasten it firmly, either by turning the thumbscrews or by using a small screwdriver to fasten it in place.

Connect the other end of the monitor cable to the monitor port on your laptop. Turn the thumbscrews until the cable is fully seated, then use your screwdriver to tighten it further. Make sure the cable is tight, but be careful not to over-tighten it.

Plug the projector in to a power outlet and turn it on. Then power on your laptop and wait for your laptop screen to appear. If you do not see your laptop screen after a few minutes, press the "Input" button on the projector to select your computer as the input source.
