How to Customize Travel Cups
Customizing a travel cup allows you to display any design, logo or image on it. You can create custom travel cups for your personal use or to sell for profit. Creating a customized travel cup used to be expensive, and many people did not have the time or resources to make them. Computer graphics programs now allow you to design travel cups on your home computer and print-on-demand websites eliminate the cost of screen printing.

Open a new design file on the Adobe Photoshop graphics program. If you do not have the Photoshop program, you can buy it through the Adobe website or at a computer software store. Once installed, click on the "File" tab in the top, left-handed corner of the screen. A list of choices will drop down. Select "New" from the list. When a pop-up window appears, type in the dimensions: 4.58 inches for the height and 2.91 for the width. Type in 300 for the DPI, which determines the resolution for the design. The higher the number, the higher the clarity will be on the image. When you are finished, click "OK." The new design image will appear and will be ready for customization.

Add text to your design by clicking on the "Text" tool, which looks like the letter "T," and is in the toolbox on the right-hand side of the screen. Once selected, click anywhere on your design, hold down the left mouse button, and drag a marquee box onto the design. Click inside the box, and begin typing your message. Customize your message by changing the font type, color or size, using the tools at the top of the screen.

Save and upload your design to a print-on-demand website. Click on the "File" tab again, and select "Save As" from the list. A pop-up screen will appear. Type in a file name, which can be anything you want to call the design image file, select the file type JPEG and click "OK." Go to a print-on-demand website, such as Cafepress or Zazzle, and upload your design file using the image uploader on the website. Once uploaded, your design can be applied to a travel cup and purchased from the website. There are no set up fees, screen printing costs or minimum order amounts, making it a budget-friendly method for customizing your own travel cup.
