These sites can easily be used to search for former classmates and other high school alumni. Of these two, Facebook is probably the easiest to use to track down someone you have lost track of. The process is simple. You sign up for an account and go to the "Find Friends" link in the drop-down menu. This takes you to a page where you can search for friends according to the high school you went to. Facebook also offers you friend suggestions based on who you already know. Chances are you will run across a former classmate or someone who attended your school because they will be on the friends list of someone you are friends with already.

Search alumni directories and databases. Many people have joined directories specifically created for the purpose of tracking down former classmates and other alumni. Popular directories include sites like reunion.com, schoolnews.com, classmates.com and mylife.com. These are just a few of the available online alumni directories. It is not enough to just go online and search these directories. You should join as many of these as possible to increase the likelihood that someone searching for you might be able to find you as well.

Perform a Google search. Google can be an amazingly effective tool for finding high school alumni. When someone performs a Google search for Broken Arrow high school alumni, he should easily find your site.

Place a classified ad in your high school's local paper or online. If you are trying to find someone specific, taking out an ad is an option you can pursue. You can take out an ad asking for information regarding the person you are searching for. You can also use sites like craigslist.org, which has a "missed connections" section where you can post an ad to try to find someone. Remember that if you post an ad on the Internet or even in the local paper, be careful with what information you provide about yourself. Craigslist will hide your personal information so that someone responding to your ad can email you, but only through a disguised email address provided by craigslist that automatically forwards messages to your personal email.
