How to Change a Notebook Display
If your notebook computer is repeatedly dropped or experiences a power surge, the LCD screen display may stop working properly. A notebook without a working display is useless, but you don't need to panic and immediately purchase a new computer. A much less costly solution is to change out the broken display with a new one. Replacing your notebook's display is challenging, but even a novice computer user should be able to complete the process.

Tips & Warnings
If the LCD display on your notebook has stopped working, you will probably need to also replace the inverter board. The board is located directly below the display. To replace the board, remove its screw and then disconnect the two cables. Pull of the board and set the new one in its place. Reconnect the screw and the two cables.
Both replacement LCD screen displays and inverter boards can be acquired through websites that sell laptop parts.
Any static electricity that has built up in your body can damage the notebook's new LCD display. Before disassembling the notebook, ground yourself by grabbing onto a metal object that is directly touching the ground.
