If you don't want to risk losing your bill payments in the mail or if you want to avoid any fees associated with paying your bills over the phone, you can receive your bills and make payments electronically instead. Canada Post---Canada's official mail service--- provides a free electronic bill presentment service called epost that allows you to view and pay your bills online. You can also manage your bills and other documents using your epost mailbox.

      Visit the epost website listed under Resources and create an account after selecting a user name and password.

      Add Mailer, the companies and organizations you receive bills from---to have your paper mail sent electronically to your epost Mailbox. Visit the "epost Mailers" page listed under Resources. Search for a company by name or search by province. Select the company you want to add and fill out the online registration form. Have a recent bill with you for reference.

      Log in to your epost account to check for bills. You can set up notifications to let you know when you receive a delivery or to remind you to check your account on a certain day.

      Click "Pay" on the left navigation bar of the bill you want to pay. Follow the instructions to make a payment. You can choose to pay by credit card, online banking link or electronic funds transfer. Write down or print the reference number given to you when your payment is confirmed.

Tips & Warnings

  • Call (877) 376-1212 or send an email to the address provided on the "Contact Us" page if you don't see a company you deal with on epost's Mailers list.

  • You'll begin receiving your bills in your epost Mailbox at the start of the next billing cycle once you've added Mailers.

  • Epost automatically puts the amount due listed on your statement in the "amount owing" field when you pay your bill. If you need to pay a different amount, enter the new amount in this field before you continue.

  • You can also view and pay your epost bills through your bank's website since the bank's electronic bill section is powered by epost.
