How to Clean Lizard Carpet

Lizards are popular exotic pets that live in cages or tanks inside the home. The tanks are designed in such a way that they mimic the lizard's natural environment with rocks, plants, water, sand and gravel. Some lizard owners also line the bottom of the lizard tank with a durable carpet, which is sometimes called lizard carpet. It is important to clean the lizard carpet at the same time that you perform regular cleaning on the rest of the items in the lizard's tank.

    • 3

Fill a sink with warm water and add one to two teaspoons of liquid soap to create suds.

    • 4

Place the lizard carpet into the sink and rub it gently with your hands for 30 to 60 seconds.

    • 5

Use a scrub brush to scrub every part of the front and back of the lizard carpet.

    • 6

Drain the soapy water from the sink.

    • 7

Turn on the water and hold the lizard carpet under the running water for one to two minutes to thoroughly remove all traces of soap.

Lay the lizard carpet flat to air dry for several hours.

Place the lizard carpet back into the lizard tank and replace other tank decorations.
