Instructions

    • 1

Unroll a generous length of cellophane and lay it flat on a work surface.

    • 2

Set the gift basket in the center of the cellophane and pull the edges of the cellophane up around the basket on all sides. Gather the cellophane in your hand just above the gift basket. Try to have an excess of approximately 6 inches of cellophane extending from the top of your hand. Trim the cellophane off at this point.

    • 3

Place a rubber band around the cellophane at the point where you held the cellophane together. Loop the rubber band several times around the cellophane tightly to hold the cellophane together.

    • 4

Tuck the cellophane in along the sides of the basket to eliminate gaps where it covers the basket. Make sure you pull the cellophane tightly so it does not gap around the basket.

    • 5

Cut an 18-inch length of ribbon and wrap the ribbon around the gathered cellophane over the rubber band. Tie the ribbon in a pretty bow with even loops and long tails cascading down the sides of the basket.

    • 6

Pull the excess cellophane extending out from the top of the ribbon so it stands straight up and looks attractive.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some cellophane comes with stamped patterns or designs on it to resemble clear wrapping paper. Use cellophane like this if you can find it.
