How to Replace a Battery in Timex Ironman

Fitness fanatics everywhere have been using digital watches like the Timex Ironman for decades as part of their daily workouts. With a stopwatch mode and the ability to operate while under water, the Timex Ironman can be of help to any number of different exercise routines. However, your Ironman isn't much use without a power source. So if the battery in your Ironman has died or is defective, you're going to have to replace it. The good news is that it's a simple process that you can perform yourself in a minute or two.

Things You'll Need

• Timex Ironman
• Replacement battery

Instructions

1. Turn your Timex Ironman face down and remove the four screws holding the back cover in place.

2. Remove the back case cover by gently prying it up with your screwdriver. Be careful to avoid disrupting any electrical contacts with the tip of your screwdriver.

3. Remove the interior sticker that covers the battery by lifting it up with the tip of your screwdriver. It should come off relatively easily. At this point the small circular battery should be visible in the compartment.

4. Lift up the small metal clip (battery strap) that covers the battery using the tip of your screwdriver.

5. Remove the battery from its housing and replace it with your new battery (available at any electronics store or online). Reassemble the watch in the same way you to took it apart.
