Use a ladder to reach light fixture comfortably and safely. Use proper ladder technique which include stopping on the next to last step and having someone hold the legs of the ladder if possible.

2
Inspect the existing globe or other glass fixture and locate three or four small screws that are holding the glass in place. These screws do not go through the glass but are placed so that they exert equal pressure all the way around the glass holding it firmly in place.

Holding the glass with one hand loosen the screws about halfway by turning them in a counterclockwise direction. Do not remove screw completely. Once each screw has been loosened gently pull out glass. If it will not easily slide out, loosen the screws another few turns each.

Take new glass globe or fixture and carefully place it over the light bulb and tighten the screws until the globe is held tightly. Do not over-tighten or the glass could crack or break.
